Best Books On Electronics Manufacturing & Testing For Test Engineers.

In this article let’s have a look at a list of books that provide good information on Electronics production and testing. I did not have the opportunity of reading all of the below books, so I suggest trying to find one in your local library first if possible before investing your money to buy them!

Book#1: Advances in Electronic Testing: Challenges and Methodologies

A good book to learn the basics of many concepts, possible failure points and methodologies to test them have been presented in this book. You can learn a lot of basic concepts through this book.

Book#2: McGraw-Hill Electronic Testing Handbook: Procedures and Techniques

This book has some good foundational knowledge of electronics testing and relevant test equipment.

Book#3: Computer Integrated Electronics Manufacturing and Testing

Released in 1989 this is a rather old and outdated book, yet one of the very few books targetting electronics manufacturing and testing specifically.

Book#4: Advanced Production Testing of RF, SoC, and SiP Devices

This is an intermediate level book on Radio Frequency and System on Chip devices. The concepts are explained in a not too detailed manner and the author expects you to have some knowledge about RF and has some good info on the topic.

Book#5: Production Testing of Rf and System-on-a-Chip Devices for Wireless Communications

If you are a test engineer for RF devices then this book might be the one you need. The book covers the basics but doesn’t go into details of some of the topics, so you might not be able to rely on it as a complete resource.

Book#6: Developing and Managing Embedded Systems and Products: Methods, Techniques, Tools, Processes, and Teamwork

Though not a book focussed on manufacturing, this is a collection of all concepts related to the industry of developing embedded devices into one large book. You can learn a lot about our industry in general reading it. If you are planning to make a startup that develops embedded devices, then this is the book I would suggest for you!
